Hello all!
Summer is almost here and there are lots of things happening! I am so excited to be able to be a part of the Frida Exhibition that is coming to the SFMOMA next week! I will be the guest artist running the family program in the Koret Education Center!
The project is called, The Many Faces of Frida. I had the honor and privilege of creating a family day project to go along with exhibition. We will be making flat nichos/retablos type pieces with the families that visit the museum that day.

My medium of choice when creating my nichos is tooling aluminum-soft tin that is easy to carve intricate designs into. The participating families will be improvising and using aluminum foil covered cardboard and a post card of frida for their piece.

Koret Visitor Education Center
Celebrate the many faces of Frida Kahlo through the artist's self-portraits. Participate in a hands-on art activity and community installation in our studios, and then settle in for a 2:00 p.m. reading of Frida, written by Jonah Winter and illustrated by Ana Juan.
Museum and program admission are free for families. Free admission limited to 4 adults per child, age 4-11.
Please note: The Family Studio capacity is limited. Families will be served as space is available.
