What and Where

Dear Angel Friends,

I apologize for my absence at the Nikkei Matsuri last Sunday.  All the angels were packed & ready to go.  At 4:00 a.m., I awoke with an excruciating headache, aching back & just couldn't lift myself out of bed.  I'd been fighting a "cold" all week & it finally reached its peak.  As a result, I ended up sleeping for 2 days straight!

For my San Jose friends who may have been looking for our booth, I regret deeply that I wasn't able to visit with you.

The repeating lesson for me is that I need to take better care of myself--finding the delicate balance between work and rest.  I'm reminded of the Care of Self Angel Insight Card:  "Running on empty is no fun.  It depletes your Spirit, your well-being, and your ability to compassionately interact with others."

Because last week's sun was bright and warm, in between making angels, I got fixated on mowing the overgrown grass in our backyard & clearing the unsightly weeds!  In the process, I came to realize that my garden, as well as my life, had grown into an overwhelming nightmare!

This morning I drew 2 Angel Insight Cards:  Lonely & Rebirth.  What are the angels telling me?

When my "to do" list is jammed with more & more daunting tasks, by keeping way too busy, I alienate myself from those who I care about the most--my family & friends.  This prevents positive interaction & dialogue.  What happens?  Self-imposed loneliness!  Alone, in my garden, with each weed I yanked, I began feeling more & more hostile.  Why isn't anyone out here helping me?  Doesn't a nice yard mean anything to them?  Where is my burley husband to lift these heavy bags?  Being too "macha" is definitely NOT fun!

I now see the wise lesson being given to me.  Disentangling my mind from overgrown weeds, some inner gardening is what I needed!  With my exhaustion, I released some festering, harmful emotions onto my husband, opening new doors for communication, thus allowing a long ovedue rebirth to happen .... along with the planting of a new spring garden!

Though the journey is never simple & never ends, it's always good to pay attention to the angelic messages that keep us connected to Spirit!
