K'ren Martin
An Interior Designer for many years in the Bay Area,
I have now switch hats to fabricating quilted throws
for enjoyment and warmth.
My unique quilted throws that are designed and
fabricated by myself
began with remnants from
drapery and upholstery fabrics. Although these
decorative fabric prints
that were frequently used for
furniture, windows and bedcovering are
now being
incorporated into beautiful quilted throws and are
constructed to be
durable for daily uses, designer
displays, wall hangings, rugs, and heirlooms.
The compatibility of my
work with contemporary
lifestyles led me to develop a durable three
layer
construction which allows the quilted throws to be
used in multi-task
capacity for enjoyment and
warmth.
have found that I can achieve a rich surface texture,
simple designs with a traditional functionality with a
crazy quilt flare.
Designer fabric used are 100% cotton, preshrunk
denim, corduroy, silk, mud cloth, African, upholstery
and drapery weight fabrics. You will find that some
of my quilted throws will need to be dry cleaned.
These quilted throws are made to be used. They are
designed with extensive construction so that they will
be durable for machine washing and dry cleaning.
Some throws are filled with 100% cotton warm
